There is a small car park with approximately six spaces. The surface is packed hardcore and can be muddy. There is one unmarked space 15m from the hide for blue badge holders.

Loch Spynie is one of Moray's hidden gems for birdwatchers and wildlife spotters. Listen for Water Rails in the reedbeds, spot Ospreys fishing and Whooper Swans on the water, and watch for year-round residents including Red Squirrels and Otters. The reserve spans wet woodlands, fen meadow and the largest freshwater reedbed in Scotland, making it ideal for ducks, geese and swans. Short trails lead through a nearby Scots Pine plantation, with peaceful loch views from a hide. The site is internationally recognised as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, Special Protection Area and Ramsar site.
