Lossiemouth boasts two of the most beautiful beaches on the Moray coast. East Beach is a vast expanse of white sand backed by dunes and the River Lossie, accessible via a pedestrian bridge from the town. West Beach (West Bay) stretches for three miles of flat golden sand towards Covesea Lighthouse, perfect for long coastal strolls at low tide.

Both beaches offer excellent rock pools to explore at low tide, ideal for children to discover crabs, starfish and sea anemones. The beaches are popular for surfing, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), sandcastle building, paddling, and beach games. The town of Lossiemouth itself offers cafes, pubs, shops, and a harbour with a marina.

The East Beach is backed by dunes created in the early 1900s using disused railway carriages, providing a natural wind shelter. West Beach offers stunning views of Covesea Lighthouse and the Moray Firth. Free access year-round to both beaches.
