Spey Bay is a beautiful coastal area at the mouth of the River Spey on the Moray Firth coast, between Kingston and Buckie. The bay features a long shingle beach backed by the largest vegetated shingle habitat in Scotland, forming part of a 450-hectare nature reserve. Spey Bay is world-famous for dolphin watching — the Moray Firth Wildlife Centre (operated by the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society) is located here and offers visitor facilities, with bottlenose dolphins frequently sighted in the bay. The area is also home to ospreys, grey and harbour seals, otters, and a variety of wildfowl and waders. The Speyside Way long-distance footpath passes through Spey Bay, making it an excellent stop for walkers and cyclists. The Tugnet Ice House, claimed to be the largest in Scotland, is a historic tourist attraction at the bay. Families can enjoy beach walks, wildlife watching, picnicking, and exploring the nature reserve. The bay offers free access and there is parking available.
