Devon Railway Centre

Set in the restored Victorian station buildings of the old Exe Valley line, the Devon Railway Centre is a family railway attraction with a lot to do for a full day. Children can take unlimited rides on a narrow-gauge line and a miniature railway, and there is a drive-your-own ride for under-10s. Younger visitors tend to head for the indoor play coaches with a sand pit, ball pool and wooden railways, and the railway-themed soft play in the Play Shed. Outdoor play areas sit alongside the trains, and a riverside picnic site is reached by train. Other highlights include a large model railway exhibition, an Edwardian model village with a model funfair, and a museum housed in a former rail carriage. Crazy golf and a tea room serving light lunches and ice creams round out the visit.
