Overbeck's Garden is a steep, terraced Edwardian garden on the cliffs above Salcombe estuary, planted with subtropical species such as palms, agaves and fuchsias. Families can wander the winding paths, look out over the water and find a spot for a picnic. The house museum is no longer part of the visit, so it is now chiefly about the garden itself. Paths are uneven with loose gravel and some steps, although a step-free route around the garden is available. Children aged 5 to 17 and family tickets are sold, and under-5s go free. A kiosk serves light refreshments, and toilets, baby changing and an accessible toilet are on site. Dogs are welcome on marked areas. It suits older children who enjoy exploring outdoors more than toddlers who need flat, enclosed space.
