Stone Lane Gardens is a woodland garden on the eastern edge of Dartmoor National Park, built around a National Collection of birch and alder trees. Families can wander the paths past ponds, bridges, wildflower meadows and water gardens, with plenty of trees to look at and wildlife to spot. From mid-May to the end of October each year the garden hosts The Mythic Garden, an annual sculpture exhibition by artists from across the South West, with pieces tucked into copses and set beside the water, so children often enjoy hunting for them as they walk. There is a small tea room in the summer months, a nursery selling plants and a barn gallery. The site is open-air and suits relaxed outings rather than fast-paced attractions, with the walks being easy to take at a child's pace.

The Mythic Garden sculpture exhibition runs each summer, roughly May to October, with the tea room open in summer months.
