A small, family-run attraction on the edge of Dartmoor where children can watch resident otters in large enclosures, including an underwater viewing area, and join the keeper talks held at feeding time. Three kinds of otter are kept: the native British otter, playful Asian short-clawed otters and large North American river otters. A tropical butterfly house holds free-flying butterflies and moths, with terrapins and a resident iguana alongside, so it suits a wet-weather visit. There is a small children's playground, a gift shop, and a riverside walk where wild otters are sometimes seen. Tickets can be bought online in advance or at reception on arrival.
