The Devon Bird of Prey Centre is an intimate, family-friendly bird of prey centre set within Fermoys Garden Centre on the A381 between Newton Abbot and Totnes, with the rolling hills of Dartmoor in the distance. Founded and run by owner Karen Andriunas with a small team of passionate staff and volunteers, the centre cares for a collection of birds of prey - including eagle owls, barn owls, Harris hawks and falcons - many of them rescued, each in its own well-built enclosure, and is professionally run under Zoo Licensing.

Visitors can wander the aviaries at close quarters, join an intimate flying display (typically 2pm, weather permitting) featuring the eagle owls, barn owls, Harris hawks and speedy falcons, and learn about the birds from knowledgeable staff and volunteers. Hands-on extras include a 'hold a bird' opportunity and a range of falconry experiences: a 1-hour session designed for children aged 6+, the Ruby Experience (ideal for children, 1hr 30min) and full-day Emerald and Diamond experiences (age 14+). The centre also runs educational and fun group sessions.

There is a small area with tables and chairs for taking a picnic, and the adjacent Fermoys Garden Centre offers cafes and shopping to round out the visit. Visitors typically spend one to two enjoyable hours here; flying is subject to weather and availability. The same team also runs the seasonal bird of prey centre at Woodlands Leisure Park near Dartmouth (separate venue).
