Sealife Adventure is an indoor aquarium and animal attraction on the Eastern Esplanade in Southend-on-Sea, which the operator describes as a Zooquarium because it mixes marine life with land animals. Families move through a series of themed ocean zones, from local estuary and coastline tanks to a tropical house and a walk-through ocean tunnel where sharks and rays swim overhead. Land animals include monkeys, meerkats, otters and Humboldt penguins, and there are talks and feeding sessions through the day, most often at weekends and during school holidays. A separate Jurassic-themed area features prehistoric creatures and interactive dinosaurs. The attraction is low level with full glass frontage, so younger children can see the displays easily. There is a café on site and annual passes are sold for repeat visits. Visits suit a rainy afternoon or a seaside day out, and the centre is a short walk from Adventure Island and other seafront attractions.
