Get To Know Animals

Get To Know Animals is an indoor mini zoo and animal rescue sanctuary near Epping Forest. All of the animals are rescued or rehomed ex-pets, and the centre keeps a wide mix of species, including small furry animals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, aquatic creatures and insects. Visitors can walk through the zoo to see the animals up close, and a range of handling sessions can be booked on the day at reception or with a ranger, depending on each animal's mood and health. The centre also hosts birthday parties and educational visits, and it runs seasonal events during school holidays. Because it is a sanctuary rather than a large open-plan zoo, the animals on show and the handling sessions available can vary from day to day. It suits younger children who enjoy animals, older children interested in reptiles and exotic species, and adults who want to meet the animals too.
