A small aviation history museum on the site of the Second World War airfield at Boxted, run by volunteers. The main draw is the Marauder exhibition hall, which has a recreated B-26 cockpit and a large section of fuselage including a tail gunner's position, alongside a fighter-pilot and bomber-crew display and a uniform collection that tells the stories of the men and women who served at the base. A Link trainer, an early flight simulator, sits in the car park building and is demonstrated on open days, which suits older children interested in flight and wartime history. The museum has a small shop selling airfield souvenirs, and the site is level with disabled access to all areas. Because it opens only on set days, families should plan a visit around the published open dates.
