A heritage railway built on about a mile of track beside the River Colne, with a restored 1950s-style station, signal box and railway yard. Families can ride a full-size train behind a steam or diesel locomotive, watch the engines run round the train at the loops, and take a short ride on a 7¼-inch miniature railway. Inside the station building there is an interactive museum about the area and the former Colne Valley and Halstead Railway, with a travelling post office where children can try sorting letters. The Tierney Model Railway Shed houses a large 00 gauge layout, and the working signal box is open to visitors on most operating days. A woodland walk runs alongside the line in the warmer months. The site suits young railway fans, families and grandparents alike, and there is a small coffee shop and gift shop on site. Services run on selected days and during special events, so it is worth checking the timetable before setting out.

Woodland walk usually open early May to end of September, weather permitting. Seasonal events include a Santa train in December, Twilight Nights in winter and steam and HST days through the year.
