Cluetopia Clacton is an indoor escape room venue where teams of two to ten are locked in a themed room and have an hour to solve clues, puzzles and padlocks before time runs out. The rooms vary in story: there is a Christmas mission to rescue a present from under a tree, a wizard-school mystery, a 1990s video shop rescue, a cave collapse and a horror room. Most of the games carry no age limit, although the venue asks that any group with someone under 12 includes an adult, and the horror room is recommended for 13 and over with an adult present. Staff monitor each room and the games suit families, mixed-age friends and school-age children who enjoy teamwork and problem solving. Each booking is exclusive to your own group, and a debrief at the end lets everyone talk through the puzzles. The venue also runs team-building sessions for workplaces.
