Realms Clacton is an indoor activity venue in the centre of Clacton-on-Sea, offering a mix of virtual reality escape-style adventures and axe throwing. Groups of two to four players work together inside a VR game, walking around, bending and picking up objects while they solve puzzles in themes such as pirates, dragons, a space station and a time machine. The venue also runs axe throwing sessions with coaching and themed targets, including seasonal events. Staff explain the activities at the start, so people without any previous experience can take part. Children are welcome with conditions: VR is open to all ages with under-14s accompanied by an adult, and axe throwing is for ages 10 and over, with under-16s accompanied by an adult. Walk-ins are accepted, although booking secures a time slot. It suits family groups, older children, teenagers and adults looking for a rainy-day activity.
