Facilities

A military history museum spread over three floors, covering British forces from the English Civil War to modern times. Visitors can see one of the largest firearms displays on public view in Europe, Special Forces equipment, and an espionage collection of spy gadgets. Other exhibits include the only surviving Cockle canoe from the Cockleshell raid, a jet engine, armour and uniforms. The venue states that there is something here for people of all ages, and younger children can browse while older children and teenagers with an interest in history will get the most from it. Lifts serve every floor, and the museum runs themed talks and group visits, so it works as an indoor option on a wet day.
