The WonderWorks, formerly known as the Hornby Hobbies Visitor Centre, is a family-friendly hobby attraction on the Westwood Industrial Estate on the edge of Margate. Its exhibits trace the history of Britain's best-loved toys, with rare products from the Hornby, Scalextric, Airfix and Corgi archives, a history of Hornby's model trains from early home-made tin toys onwards, and large model railway and slot-car layouts to watch. Children can get hands-on with models and kits in the interactive experience area, and there is a shop stocking the brands on show plus a café serving hot and cold food. The site is a fit for model railway fans, car enthusiasts and families looking for a rainy-day outing, and it has an accredited Kent Children's University learning destination status. Group and birthday bookings are available by arrangement.
