The Faversham Miniature Railway is a small steam and diesel line that runs through the orchards of the National Fruit Collection at Brogdale Farm. It is described as the only 9-inch gauge railway open to the public in the UK, and it suits younger children who enjoy trains and a short, gentle ride. The track loops through the fruit trees and returns to the station, so families can take a ride and then walk among the orchards afterwards. The line is maintained and operated by a team of volunteers, which gives the day a relaxed, hobby-railway feel. The railway runs on set days in the season rather than every day, so it is worth checking before a visit. Parking and the farm's cafe and play park are part of the wider site, making it a simple outing for a family afternoon.
