Whitwell & Reepham Railway Station

A preserved heritage railway set beside the Marriott's Way in the mid-Norfolk countryside. The station was reopened by a volunteer preservation society and now runs short passenger rides along a track of around a quarter of a mile, using a mix of steam and diesel locomotives and a collection of rolling stock. Families tend to come for the trains, which run at weekends, with extra steam days on the first Sunday of each month and during bank holidays. There is a small railway museum on the platform and a café and bar called The Sidings, with an enclosed garden at the rear and a play area for children. Entry to the site itself is free, so a visit can be as short as a cup of tea and a look at the engines or as long as a full day of rides and food. Seasonal events such as galas, a Santa train in December and themed weekends add to the calendar through the year.
