True's Yard Fisherfolk Museum is a volunteer-run social history museum that tells the story of the old fishing quarter of King's Lynn. Much of the North End was cleared in the 1930s and 1960s, and two surviving cottages, a Victorian smokehouse and a smithy stand in the yard, so visitors can step inside rooms where whole families once lived. Galleries rotate through temporary exhibitions, and the museum describes itself as family friendly, with free children's trails and time explorer rucksacks to keep younger visitors busy. A Georgian tea room serves cake, light lunches and hot drinks. Parents should expect a historic site: the yard floor is uneven and lift access covers only some areas, so visits suit families happy to explore at a gentle pace.
