The Thursford Collection is a working steam engine and organ museum in rural North Norfolk, set around traction engines, showman's engines, fairground and mechanical organs and vintage fairground rides. Families can look over the steam machines, hear the fairground organs, and watch a resident organist play the large Wurlitzer theatre organ during the summer season. Silent films are shown in the museum at times, and the vintage carousel and gondola switchback can be ridden for an extra charge. A barn café and an old-fashioned shopping village sit on the site, and the grounds also host a Christmas show and a seasonal light trail in winter. It suits a relaxed half-day out for mixed ages, especially children who enjoy machinery, music and history.
