Museum 4 Watton is a small, volunteer-run local history museum housed in the historic Wayland Hall in the market town of Watton. Its displays cover the town and surrounding villages, from prehistoric finds such as an early flint hand axe through to the Second World War, when RAF Watton played a major role. Children can see a full-size replica of a Roman skeleton found locally, and there are documents and pictures from the wartime airfield. A small education and research area has touch-screen computers and reference books for those who want to dig further. Displays change regularly, so repeat visits can offer something new. The museum suits families on a rainy day or a Norfolk countryside trip, and it is a short walk from Wayland Wood, linked to the Babes in the Wood story. Opening is limited to a few days each week, so check before travelling.
