Towneley Hall is a former family home turned museum and art gallery, set in a large landscaped park on the edge of Burnley. Rooms are arranged as period settings, including a Victorian kitchen, Regency rooms and a Great Hall, alongside collections covering fine art, ancient Egypt, local history and natural history. Children can explore the house at their own pace and the venue runs family-focused activities, workshops and seasonal events such as a Christmas visit with Santa. Outside, the park has woodland walks, sculpture trails, formal gardens, play areas and a cafe, so a visit can easily fill a long afternoon. Entry for under-17s is free, which makes it a practical choice for a family day out. Parts of the historic building are not step-free, so families with pushchairs or limited mobility may want to check ahead.
