A military history museum set inside the working Fulwood Barracks on the northern edge of Preston. Its galleries follow the Lancashire infantry regiments from their formation in the late 1600s through to recent conflicts, with displays of uniforms, medals, regimental silver and the Salamanca Eagle trophy. Older children who enjoy history, uniforms and battle stories are likely to get the most out of a visit. Adults need photo identification to pass the barracks security, and visitors must book in advance. The museum is accessible to wheelchair users through a ramped entrance and a lift, and there is free parking within the barracks.
