The Little Cobbled Village is an indoor role play centre on an industrial estate on the edge of Lancaster, set out as a miniature town. Children move between themed zones such as a fire station, a safari vets, a village supermarket, a builders' yard, a post office, a flower market and a small cottage, and take on whatever roles they like. It suits toddlers and young children up to around seven, and is especially good for a wet afternoon. Parents and carers can sit down in the adjoining café area while children play. The venue also runs exclusive party bookings for private groups and hosts occasional special sessions, including inclusive sessions for families with children with additional needs. Each child has a timed play slot, so it is worth checking the current session times before setting out.
Questions parents ask
- How long should we allow for a visit?
- Each play session lasts 90 minutes, with a further 15 minutes for children to help tidy up. This gives families plenty of time to explore the 11 role play zones without feeling rushed.
- Is there a café, or should we bring a picnic?
- There is an on-site café serving drinks, snacks, and children's options, so you do not need to bring your own food. Outside food is not permitted at the venue.
- Can we manage it with children of different ages?
- The village is designed for children aged 0 to 7 years, though older siblings are welcome to join in with younger family members. Parents and carers can stay, supervise, and even join in the play.
- Is it buggy-friendly for younger children?
- We have not confirmed whether buggies can be taken round the play zones, so it is worth checking directly with the venue before your visit if you need to bring one.
