Rickmansworth Aquadrome is a large open park on the edge of Rickmansworth, built around two lakes, Batchworth and Bury Lake, with woodland, grassland and a local nature reserve designation. Families come for the play areas, the picnic space with extra play equipment, and the walks around the water, where the paths are largely level and wide enough for wheelchair users to pass. There is a café in the park and toilets on site. Water birds such as mallards and great crested grebes can be seen from the paths, and the Grand Union Canal and the Ebury Way are a short way off for cyclists and walkers. Barbecues are not allowed and swimming is prohibited, so it suits a relaxed picnic, a bike ride or a run around the playgrounds rather than water activities.
Open 365 days a year. Car park hours change between summer and winter, so check before travelling.
