Langleybury Children's Farm is a small, charity-run farm that grew out of the old farm attached to Langleybury House, on the edge of Kings Langley. Younger children tend to get the most out of it: there are goats, sheep, pigs, donkeys, ponies, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and owls to look at, and in some seasons the chance to buy animal feed and get up close. Visits run in timed sessions, so the farm stays uncrowded and feels manageable for toddlers and pre-school children. A separate play area is split between under-5s and over-5s, with a zip-wire and a small football area for older children. There is a large picnic area with plenty of seating, and a small farm shop sells drinks, snacks, ice creams and toys. Dogs are not allowed on site. Parents should book in advance online.

Seasonal: weekends Easter to Halloween plus Hertfordshire school holidays on weekdays. The site notes a re-opening date of 28 March 2026.

Questions parents ask

Is there food at the farm, or should we bring a picnic?
You can bring your own lunch to eat in the picnic garden area. The farm shop also stocks refreshing drinks, snacks and ice creams if you fancy a special treat.
Do we need to book in advance?
Yes, the page shows that bookings are required and booking is available online through their website.
What animals can the children feed?
There are goats, pigs, sheep, calves and donkeys to feed. Animal feed is available for purchase in the farm shop on the day of your visit, and quantities are capped daily to keep the animals fit and healthy.
What is there to do besides the animals?
The farm has play equipment including a mini football pitch, separate play areas for under 5s and over 5s, and a zip-wire located in a wooded nature trail.
Is it manageable with a buggy?
Buggies have not been confirmed as friendly at this venue. We recommend checking directly with the farm before your visit to understand how easily you can navigate the outdoor farm with a pushchair.
