Bancroft Splash Park

Bancroft Splash Park is the water play area inside Bancroft Recreation Ground, a long-established park a short walk from Hitchin town centre. It is run by North Herts Council and is designed around a buccaneer theme, with interactive water jets, tipping water buckets, a pirate ship and a play stream aimed at younger children. Parents can keep an eye on smaller ones while older children run through the sprays. The wider park has a play area for younger children, a multi-use games area, bowling greens and tennis courts, so it suits a longer visit with a picnic or a walk. A café kiosk serves hot and cold drinks and light snacks, and there is seating in a courtyard beside it. The splash pad is an outdoor feature, so it is best enjoyed on warm days when the council has it running.
