A small independent museum in the Lincolnshire fenland, housing a large collection of electrical, electronic and military equipment from the period 1850 to 1980. Many of the exhibits, including early telephones, radios and a telephone exchange, can be demonstrated by the volunteers, which gives older children a chance to see how things worked before they were replaced. Displays cover early cameras, computers, televisions, weaponry from the First and Second World Wars and a range of valves and induction coils. The museum is wheelchair friendly on one level and has a car park, a small tea room and an outdoor picnic area. Visits suit families with school-age children, history enthusiasts and groups; the museum also welcomes school parties by arrangement. Check ahead before travelling, as the museum is run by volunteers and opening days can vary.
