A tiny local history museum set in the side of an old Victorian cottage at the Datchworth Green crossroads. The building was once a blacksmith's forge, and the original bellows are still in place as the main feature of the room. Local artefacts are arranged in glass cabinets, so a visit is quick and suits children who like old tools and village history. Entry is free, with donations welcome, and the museum is run by volunteers from a Friends group set up in the 1990s. It is open only on certain Saturdays and closed in the winter months, so families should check before setting out. Students and history groups can book visits by arrangement, which makes it a useful stop for a school project or a rainy-afternoon detour in the Hertfordshire countryside.
