Mill Green Museum is a restored working watermill on the River Lea, set in the small hamlet of Mill Green between Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City. Visitors can watch the miller at work grinding flour with water power, then look round the galleries in the old miller's house, which hold a rotating programme of local history exhibitions. Craft and baking workshops, family fun days and holiday activities run through the year, and a school visit service is available for groups. Younger children tend to enjoy seeing how grain becomes flour, while older ones can follow the mill's history back to the seventeenth century. The on-site tea room and flour shop make it easy to stay a little longer. The museum is open only on certain days, so check the season dates before travelling.
Seasonal opening; closed between 29 November 2026 and 5 March 2027 according to the venue site.
