Sufton Court is a small Palladian house completed in 1788 and designed by James Wyatt, who also created its interiors. Families can join guided tours through the rooms, where the highlight is the room that was once the music room and is now the drawing room, along with collections of 18th-century furnishings and decorative pieces. Outside, the parkland was laid out following proposals by Humphry Repton, and the house sits high above the confluence of the rivers Wye and Lugg, so there are wide views across the countryside. It suits older children who enjoy history and architecture, and younger ones can explore the open parkland during opening periods. The house is only open for a small number of set weeks each year, so check the schedule before planning a visit.
