Leominster Museum is a local history museum on Etnam Street at the top end of Leominster town centre. Its displays tell the story of the town and the surrounding villages from pre-Roman times to the present day, using artefacts, pictures, photographs, postcards and documents. The collection includes a notable group of paintings and drawings by John Scarlett Davis, a Victorian artist from the town. Rooms and outbuildings include a cider house and a Victorian stable, which give a feel for how local people lived and worked. The museum runs a seasonal main exhibition and occasional temporary displays, and it describes education as the core of its activities, with a programme for schools. It suits families with children who enjoy history, old photographs and local stories, and the stewards will help younger visitors get a closer look at particular objects. The archive is available for research purposes.
