Craven Collection of Classic Bikes

A small, privately run motorcycle museum set in a converted farm building on the edge of Stockton on the Forest, just outside York. The collection of classic bikes covers roughly a century of motorcycling, with many British makes such as BSA, Norton, Vincent and Matchless, plus military and police machines, scramblers, trials bikes and scooters. Some of the machines were used in the long-running ITV drama Heartbeat, which may interest families with older children who enjoy vehicles and history. Alongside the motorcycles there is a large amount of automobilia and vintage motoring memorabilia to look over. The museum is run by the collector himself and opens only on certain Sundays and bank holidays through the summer, so it suits a relaxed visit of an hour or two rather than a full day out. Visitors should check dates before setting off.
