Thorp Perrow is a woodland garden and arboretum on the edge of the Wensleydale countryside, planted over many decades by one family and home to several national tree collections and many champion trees. Families can wander the wide avenues and quieter woodland paths, spot seasonal colour from snowdrops in spring to autumn leaves, and follow the trails that run through the year. A children's play area sits within the grounds, and the Bird of Prey and Mammal Centre offers close views of owls and other birds as well as meerkats and wallabies, with flying displays through the day. There is a tearoom and garden centre on site, and disabled toilets with baby changing are available at the tearoom and the bird centre. Some ground is rough and unsuitable for wheelchairs, so it suits pushchairs and sturdy walkers best. Dogs are welcome on a lead in the arboretum and outdoor seating areas. Seasonal events such as Halloween and Christmas trails add to the appeal for younger visitors.

Seasonal trails and events through the year, including Halloween and Christmas trails and Santa's Grotto in late November to December.
