The National Park Visitor Centre sits beside the Aysgarth Falls on the River Ure, giving families a base for a waterfall walk in the Yorkshire Dales. The falls are a series of broad limestone steps, and the riverside paths between the upper, middle and lower sections are fairly level, with woodland and wildlife along the way. Inside the centre there are displays about the area, guidebooks and leaflets, and staff can suggest shorter walks for children or longer routes further into Wensleydale. A café is next to the centre with indoor and outdoor seating. Dogs are welcome on the site. The falls are at their most dramatic after heavy rain, so the walk suits a visit at most times of year.
