The Green Howards Museum is the regimental museum of the Green Howards, a British infantry regiment, and it occupies a building in the centre of Richmond's market place. Its galleries cover around 300 years of the regiment's history through a collection of more than 35,000 artefacts, with displays on the soldiers who served and the events they lived through. Stories of adventure and everyday life sit alongside the history of conflict, which can suit older children with an interest in history. Temporary exhibitions change through the year, and the 2026 show looks at sportsmen from the regiment who went on to serve. Families can visit at their own pace, and the museum runs school sessions as part of its learning programme. A small shop sells gifts and books, and the market town around it has plenty to see on foot.
