Linton Falls is a series of limestone cascades on the River Wharfe in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a short walk downhill from Grassington. It suits families who want an easy outdoor outing with something dramatic to watch: the water runs fast and loud after heavy rain, and a footbridge above the falls gives a view of the churning river. Upstream stands a restored hydroelectric plant, which older children may find interesting. The banks and bridge sit close to fast water, so young children need close supervision. The site is open at all hours and is reached from a National Park car park that charges for parking. Paths can be narrow, uneven and steep in places, so pushchairs and wheelchairs may struggle on some stretches. Toilets are available at the car park.
