A spooky indoor attraction in Whitby that follows the story of Bram Stoker's Dracula from the arrival of the doomed ship to the vampire's end. Visitors move through a series of rooms where the tale is told through speakers, mannequins, animated scenes and a few animatronics, with live actors appearing at busy periods and during school holidays. A short film made in-house closes the visit, covering the real history behind the Count and how Whitby's atmosphere shaped the novel. It suits older children and teenagers who enjoy gothic horror, and the mix of history and theatre gives families something to talk about afterwards. The building was once the Captain's Reading Rooms, where Stoker is said to have carried out some of his research. School and group visits are welcomed, and there is a gift shop with Dracula-themed souvenirs. Younger children may find some scenes frightening, so it is best suited to those who are comfortable with a dark, scary atmosphere.
