The Keith and Dufftown Railway, nicknamed the Whisky Line, is a preserved branch line in Moray that runs between the market town of Keith and the distilling centre of Dufftown. Trains are heritage diesel units, and the journey passes distilleries, hillsides and the Fiddich viaduct, which suits families who enjoy trains and a slow scenic ride. Children are charged reduced fares, and there are special-event trains through the year, including Santa trains, fish and chip trips and a ghost train, along with themed weekends. Dufftown station has a café called the Sidings Café, and Keith Town station has a booking office and a shop selling railway souvenirs and model trains. The railway is run by volunteers, so it is worth checking the timetable before setting out. Facilities at both stations are described as wheelchair friendly, though the site advises phoning ahead to confirm wheelchair access on a particular train.
Operates in the season with a 2026 events calendar; Santa, Hogmanay, Burns Night and other specials on set dates.
