Fell Foot is a family-friendly park on the southern shore of Windermere, England's largest lake, run by the National Trust. Its grounds were once a Victorian estate, so there are lawns, a pinetum-style pleasure ground, Gothic Revival boathouses and a short heritage trail to follow. Younger children can use the outdoor play area near the south car park, which has swings, climbing frames and a small slide. The Boathouse Café sits beside the lake and serves hot meals, snacks and ice cream in summer. Seasonal rowboat, kayak and paddleboard hire is available, and there is an orienteering course and nature trail for older children. The park suits picnics, lakeside walks and buggy strolls, and dogs are welcome on leads in most areas.
