Quarry Bank is a preserved cotton mill set in a wooded valley beside the River Bollin. Visitors can watch the working waterwheel and see how spinning and weaving were carried out in the early factory era. Families can wander the mill yard, look round the apprentice house and the family home next to the mill, and walk the valley gardens and estate paths. There is an adventure playground with a trim trail and a playhouse, outdoor picnic areas, and a café and restaurant on site. Seasonal trails and family activities run through the year, and the historic buildings give older children plenty to talk about. Some paths are steep or uneven, and the estate runs a shuttle buggy service to help move around. Dogs are welcome on leads in the main visitor areas.
Christmas events and seasonal trails run through the year; check the What's On pages.
