The Tank Museum is a large museum of armoured vehicles from the First World War to the present day, housed in several galleries and interactive halls. Families can walk among hundreds of tanks and armoured vehicles, including the working Tiger 131, and explore immersive exhibitions such as a trench experience and a story hall covering the early tanks. Children can take part in trails, quizzes and dress-up activities, and there are indoor and outdoor play areas to break up a visit. In the spring and summer holidays the outdoor arena hosts Tanks in Action displays and short rides in a tracked vehicle. The museum runs special events through the year, including model shows and Tiger Days. A café and restaurant are on site and there is a large free car park. The site suits families with a keen interest in history, and it also offers quieter sessions for visitors with sensory needs.
