Eye Bridge is a stretch of the River Stour on the edge of Wimborne, reached from a small National Trust car park off the Wimborne to Cowgrove road. The bridge crosses the river at a weir, and the flat grassy banks either side make it a good place for a picnic, a paddle or a gentle stroll with younger children. In summer it is busy with families, and older children sometimes jump in from the bridge where the water is deep enough, so adults should keep an eye on them. The site is part of a longer waymarked walk that follows the river upstream through ancient woodland and meadows towards Pamphill and Cowgrove, with plenty of birdlife to spot along the way. There is no play equipment or visitor building here, so it suits families who want an open-air day with space to run about and time spent by the water.
Described by the National Trust as very popular with families in summer; quieter out of season.
