  • Parking
  • Dogs welcome

Parking at South Beach car park, Studland (BH19 3AU), per the National Trust trail page. The page does not state charges, so none are given here.

Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.

Old Harry Rocks is a group of white chalk sea stacks and stumps on the Isle of Purbeck, looked after by the National Trust. Families usually reach them on foot from South Beach car park at Studland, following a clifftop path that is flat and wide for most of the way to the rocks. The view opens out over Studland Bay, Poole Harbour and the Isle of Wight, and there are grassy spots for a picnic before the cliff edge. The full circular route loops over Ballard Down and takes most walkers one to two hours, so children with good stamina will enjoy it more than little ones in a buggy. There are Celtic earthworks and plenty of birdlife along the way. Dogs are welcome on leads, and the cliff edges are steep, so an adult should keep young children close.
