Facilities
We haven’t checked this venue’s facilities yet. Give them a ring if something specific matters for your visit.
Wareham Town Museum sits in the Town Hall on East Street and tells the story of the Wareham area from prehistoric times to the present day. Displays cover archaeology, geology, natural history and social history, with a Saxon sword, dinosaur material, a children's toys display and exhibits on the Royal Naval Cordite Factory at Holton Heath. A separate section is devoted to T. E. Lawrence, who lived nearby. The museum is compact, so a visit suits a family wanting a short, low-pressure look at local heritage, with children drawn to the dinosaur and toy displays and older visitors to the Lawrence material. It is run by volunteers, and the museum says it runs family activities and welcomes school groups. Check the museum's own site before travelling, as opening arrangements and temporary displays change.
