Langdon Hill is a National Trust woodland on the Golden Cap estate in West Dorset, reached from a small car park off the A35. A short circular trail of around a mile and a half winds through Scots pine and larch, with clearings that look out over the Marshwood Vale and towards the coast. The walk is easy going and takes roughly half an hour at a family pace, so it suits pushchairs on the wider paths and children who are ready for a stretch. There is a den-building area for younger visitors and plenty of room to run about, and the trail is a good option for a picnic. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, but keep them under control near grazing livestock. It works well as a stop on the way to Golden Cap, the highest point on the south coast, which is reached by a longer path. Wear sturdy shoes, as parts of the route can be muddy.
The route can be muddy in places. A short wildlife trail and den building are part of the walk.
