Dorchester Showground, on the edge of Dorchester at Cokers Frome, is the site of the Dorset County Show, a two-day agricultural show held every September. Families come to see cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, alpacas, rabbits, poultry and heavy horses up close, and to watch livestock competitions, showjumping and ring displays. Children's fairground rides and entertainment are part of the weekend, alongside a food hall, a food and drink area, trade stands and craft and horticulture pavilions. The site is open to day visitors by ticket on the show days, with separate child and family tickets and a campsite for overnight stays. Because it is an event site rather than a permanent attraction, it is only busy for the show itself, and the show is due to move to a new site from 2027.
Event site: used for the Dorset County Show each September. The show moves to Pigeon House Farm, Slyers Lane, for 2027 (first show there 4-5 September 2027).
