Clouds Hill is a small brick and tile cottage on the edge of the heath near Wareham, where the writer and soldier T E Lawrence, known as Lawrence of Arabia, came to rest and work in the 1920s and 1930s. The rooms are kept much as he left them, so a visit is a quiet walk through a historic home rather than a busy attraction. Younger visitors can try brass rubbing from zinc plaques, climb the small hill behind the cottage for a view over the heath, and look at the motorbike shed, where Lawrence kept his Brough Superior machines and where a display now tells his story. The cottage is compact and dimly lit, so it suits older children with an interest in history, and there is a picnic bench on the hill. It works well as part of a longer walk along the Lawrence Trail from Moreton.
