What’s there

  • Parking

The venue's own location page says parking is available in the car parks on Castle Street, Sainsbury's, May Lane and Water Street. Whether these are free or paid is not stated.

Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.

A small, free-entry local history museum in the centre of Dursley, run entirely by volunteers. Displays focus on objects made in the town or with close links to it, including machinery, small industrial items and an early example of the Pedersen hammock bicycle linked to the Lister engineering works. There are books to browse, a large video screen showing local scenes and films, and changing exhibitions on local subjects. It suits families with older children who enjoy machinery, history and local stories, and it makes a short, easy visit that can be combined with a stroll around the town centre. The centre is quiet and compact, so a visit is best kept to a relaxed pace with younger children. Opening days are limited, so check before travelling.
