Bourton House Garden is a formal garden around a Cotswold house in Bourton-on-the-Hill, near Moreton-in-Marsh. Its three acres are split into garden rooms, with clipped topiary, a knot garden, a white garden, deep herbaceous borders and several water features including an old raised basket pond. A raised 18th-century walk looks out over the countryside. Families can wander the paths at their own pace, look at the planting and stop for a cake in the tithe barn café. Beyond the garden, a mown walk runs through a seven-acre field of specimen trees, and a printed guide to the trees is available. It suits slower days out with older children, grandparents or anyone who enjoys gardens, and it is calmer than a typical family attraction.
Seasonal: 2026 season runs from 7 April to 16 October. Café open May to September 10:30 to 16:30, with pop-up café in April and October.
